Our mission
Most people meet currency conversion at an awkward moment: booking a trip, paying an overseas invoice, checking what a crypto holding is worth, or trying to make sense of a price quoted in another currency. In those moments you do not want a wall of finance jargon. You want a clear number you can trust, and ideally a little context so you understand it.
Currvo exists to give you exactly that. We pair a fast, no-friction converter with plain-English explanations, so the tool does not just spit out a figure, it helps you understand where that figure comes from. We cover dozens of world currencies and the major cryptocurrencies in one place, which means a single tool handles fiat-to-fiat, crypto-to-crypto, and mixed conversions.
What Currvo is, and what it is not
Currvo is an informational converter and reference tool. The rates we display are mid-market reference rates, the same midpoint figure used as the benchmark across the industry. We do not add a margin to them.
Currvo is not a money-transfer service, a broker, or an exchange. You cannot buy, sell, or send money through Currvo, and the rates shown are for information rather than a guaranteed transaction price. When you actually exchange money through a bank or provider, the rate you receive will include their own margin, which is why we explain the mid-market concept in detail on the Learn page.
Where our data comes from
Accuracy starts with good sources. Currvo combines a small number of well-established public data providers rather than a single feed:
| Data | Source | What it provides |
|---|---|---|
| Fiat exchange rates | ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api) | Reference rates for 160+ world currencies |
| Crypto prices & market data | CoinGecko | Live prices, market cap, and volume across hundreds of coins |
| Historical crypto data | Binance public market data | Daily price history used for charts and past-rate lookups |
We are grateful to these providers, whose public data makes a free tool like Currvo possible. Rate data is refreshed on a short cycle and cached briefly to keep the tool fast and to stay within the fair-use limits of those sources.
How we calculate conversions
Every currency on Currvo, whether it is a national currency or a cryptocurrency, is first expressed in a common reference: the US dollar. To convert from one currency to another, we translate the source amount into its USD value and then into the target currency. This "normalize to USD" approach is what keeps results consistent across very different asset types, so a euro-to-yen conversion and a Bitcoin-to-euro conversion follow the same transparent logic.
Privacy and how we are funded
Currvo is built to respect your privacy. There are no accounts and no sign-ups, and your conversion history and favorites are stored locally in your own browser, not on our servers. You can read the full details in our privacy policy.
So that the tool can stay free, Currvo is supported by advertising. We aim to keep ads unobtrusive and to keep the focus on the content and the converter itself.
